LED & Power Electronics Manufacturing

LED and power electronics PCBAs combine small control components with large thermal pads, thick copper, heat sinks, transformers, power terminals and high-current connectors. The difference in thermal mass across the same board affects solder paste printing, reflow heating and through-hole solder fill. Solder voids beneath exposed pads can also interfere with heat transfer from power devices and LEDs.
DEZ provides stencil and PCB cleaning, reflow ovens, selective soldering, PCBA cleaning, X-ray inspection, BGA rework and PCB handling equipment for LED and power electronics production.

What Makes These PCB Assemblies Different

Large Thermal Pads and Small Control Components

Power devices may require a large solder deposit while nearby control components use fine-pitch pads. Stencil design, aperture cleanliness and solder paste volume must support both conditions.

Thick Copper and Aluminium-Based PCBs

Copper planes and metal-core boards absorb heat differently from standard FR-4 assemblies. The reflow profile must heat the solder joints without overheating LEDs or smaller components.

Solder Voids Beneath Power Devices

Voids beneath QFN, MOSFET, IGBT, LED and other exposed-pad packages are hidden after reflow and require X-ray inspection.

High-Current Through-Hole Connections

Transformers, inductors, capacitors, terminals and connectors often remain after SMT reflow and require controlled through-hole soldering.

Flux Around Large Solder Joints

Selective or wave soldering can leave flux residue around power terminals, connector pins and component leads.

Large and Heavy PCB Assemblies

Power boards, heat sinks and soldering carriers require suitable conveyor width, load capacity and bottom support.

LED and Power Electronics FAQ

Which Reflow Oven Should We Choose for Aluminium or Thick-Copper PCBs?

Choose the DEZ-R800PC for standard LED driver and control-board production. Choose the DEZ-R1000PC when large copper areas, metal-core boards or power devices require a longer heating process and wider profile adjustment.

Choose the DEZ-H3600A for offline production up to 400 × 300 mm. Choose the DEZ-H3800S or DEZ-H3900A when the same assemblies require continuous inline soldering.

Choose the DEZ-X7600. It provides X-ray imaging and void-area calculation for compatible QFN, BGA and exposed-pad devices on assemblies up to 510 × 450 mm.

Choose the DEZ-C743 for high-mix batch cleaning. Choose the DEZ-C1520 for stable inline production. Choose the DEZ-C758 only for visible residue on one accessible solder side.

Yes, when the assembly fits the equipment and does not exceed its height, weight or clearance limits. Provide dimensions and total weight with the heat sink installed.

Choose the DEZ-R820 for PCBs up to 415 × 370 mm and components up to 80 × 80 mm. Choose the DEZ-R880A for PCBs up to 710 × 490 mm and components up to 120 × 120 mm.

No. Aluminium-core boards, FR-4 drivers and thick-copper power boards respond differently to heat. Each assembly requires its own measured profile.

Provide the PCB dimensions, thickness, material, copper weight, total assembly weight, largest thermal pad, through-hole components, solder paste, flux, required output and existing defects.
