Produces nitrogen for selective soldering, reflow ovens and other compatible SMT production processes.
Nitrogen is used in selected soldering processes to reduce oxygen exposure around the soldering area. When the process is correctly configured, this can help control oxidation, improve process stability and reduce the influence of inconsistent gas supply.
An on-site SMT nitrogen generator produces nitrogen from clean, dry compressed air. It gives the factory greater control over nitrogen availability while reducing routine cylinder replacement, delivery coordination and storage requirements.
A nitrogen generator for selective soldering supplies nitrogen to the soldering system, where it is commonly used around the solder nozzle and local soldering area.
Reducing oxygen exposure can help control solder oxidation and support repeatable process conditions. The final result still depends on flux selection, preheating, solder temperature, nozzle condition, PCB design and process programming.
The DEZ nitrogen generator can be considered together with our Selective Soldering Machines when planning a new through-hole assembly process or replacing an existing nitrogen supply method.
For factories experiencing unstable through-hole soldering results, DEZ can also evaluate the complete process through our Selective Soldering Optimization for THT Assembly solution.
A nitrogen generator for reflow soldering can supply nitrogen to compatible reflow ovens that use an inert atmosphere to reduce oxidation during heating and solder reflow.
Nitrogen consumption varies significantly between different oven sizes, heating-zone configurations, exhaust settings and production conditions.
Do not select a generator based only on nitrogen purity. The generator must provide sufficient continuous flow while maintaining the required purity and pressure during actual oven operation.
Send DEZ the reflow oven model, specified nitrogen consumption and target purity before ordering. We will check whether the standard generator can support the oven or recommend a suitable higher-output configuration.
Compressed air first passes through filtration and drying to remove moisture, oil and contaminants that could affect the PSA system.
The prepared air enters the adsorption system, where oxygen is retained by the adsorbent while nitrogen continues through the system. Alternating adsorption vessels allow the generator to maintain a continuous nitrogen supply.
The nitrogen output is then monitored and delivered to the connected soldering equipment at the configured pressure.
Process flow:
Compressed Air → Filtration and Drying → PSA Adsorption → Nitrogen Separation → Purity Monitoring → Soldering Equipment

A PSA nitrogen generator depends on a stable supply of clean and dry compressed air.
The standard DEZ-D59-2N requires an air pressure of 0.6 to 0.8 MPa and an inlet-air dew point of −10°C or lower. The nitrogen outlet dew point can reach −40°C or lower under the specified operating conditions.
Compressed air containing excessive moisture, oil or particles can reduce adsorption performance and shorten the service life of filtration components and molecular sieves.
Therefore if the factory air supply does not meet the required condition, additional air treatment may be recommended.
An on-site nitrogen generator is particularly useful when nitrogen is consumed regularly and cylinder replacement has become inconvenient, costly or difficult to manage.
It can help a factory reduce dependence on scheduled nitrogen deliveries and maintain more direct control over gas availability. It also avoids repeated cylinder handling beside the production area.
For occasional or very low consumption, cylinders may still be practical. Some factories also retain cylinders as an emergency backup supply.
DEZ can help compare the equipment demand and operating pattern before recommending an on-site nitrogen generation system.
The DEZ-D59-2N can support compatible selective soldering systems after nitrogen demand has been confirmed.
The Offline Automatic Selective Soldering Machine – DEZ-H3500A is designed for controlled through-hole fluxing, preheating and selective soldering. Its nitrogen requirement should be checked according to the selected process configuration.
The Offline Selective Wave Soldering Machine with Preheating – DEZ-H3600A provides an additional preheating configuration for through-hole assemblies that require more controlled thermal preparation before soldering.
When the nitrogen generator and soldering equipment are evaluated together, DEZ can check gas flow, connection pressure, process demand and installation requirements before shipment.
The nitrogen generator supplies compatible selective soldering equipment with nitrogen for localized through-hole soldering. The objective is to reduce oxygen exposure around the soldering area and maintain more stable process conditions.
The system can supply compatible compact reflow ovens when the generator output matches the oven’s specified nitrogen consumption.
The generator may also be considered for compatible electronics-manufacturing processes that require a controlled nitrogen atmosphere.
